Medal takes the form of the iron cross with oak leaf blazes in the amrs of the cross. The cross reads mit gott fru kaiser u. Reich (with god for emperor and empire) and shows the imperial eagle in the center stars accompany teh words on the arms of the cross. On the reverse anchors accompany the wors of the cross and cross swors are on the uper arm. This side reads fur konig und vaterland for king and fatherland.
